Alex Maldonado
Facility Manager

Alex Maldonado

Alex Maldonado is the Director at Bob Day Tennis Center with 14 years of management experience. Certified as a PTR and PPR professional and USTA Tournament Director, he led the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup (ITF). He has coached world-class tennis athletes and elite junior pickleball players while building inclusive racquet sports communities.

Becky Pohlen

Becky Pohlen

Born in Honolulu and raised in Dallas, Becky played varsity tennis at North Texas State (now UNT) and later competed at the 4.5 level. With B.S. and M.S. degrees in physical education, she taught PE in Richardson ISD and at Eastfield College, coached at Kiest and Fretz, and managed Samuell Grand for several years.

Justin Le brings five years of competitive tennis, including varsity No. 1 and two years as team captain. His coaching centers on simple, fundamental technique — clean mechanics, consistency and confidence first. Off the court, he keeps day-to-day operations running smoothly for players and families alike.

Hunter Scammahorn has coached tennis in the Dallas area for over eight years. A former Top 10 junior in Texas and Top 50 nationally, he believes understanding the game matters as much as playing it. He emphasizes balance, movement and body control to build efficient technique, confidence and athleticism.

A former high-level junior recruited by NCAA D-I, II and III programs, Alexis blends American and international methods with a focus on technique, footwork and movement. Fredy Rubio

From Valencia to Melbourne to Texas, Fredy brings 15+ years of coaching. He led a national-level high-performance club in Spain, then directed junior high-performance programs in Australia. He thrives in one-on-one lessons and competitive team settings, is pursuing PTR certification and is a native Spanish speaker.

A former standout junior and University of Dayton player, Mike was a hitting partner for pros at Rancho Park in Los Angeles and has coached at Jack Coleman and Bob Day for five years. A tennis historian, racquet collector and special education teacher, he focuses on fundamentals, footwork, movement and strategy.
